Paul Blackburn allows three runs, takes loss

Paul Blackburn (0-1) took the loss for the New York Mets on Wednesday against Atlanta, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits and two walks over 3.2 innings. The right-hander struck out two. All of the damage came in the first inning, and he was removed after 73 pitches in what was his second start of the season.

Through his first 13 innings of the year, Blackburn has a 6.94 ERA, 1.69 WHIP, and an 8:4 K:BB ratio. He is currently needed in the Mets' rotation, with Kodai Senga (hamstring), Sean Manaea (oblique), and Frankie Montas (lat) all on the injured list. His next start lines up for a rematch versus Atlanta next week.
