Fantasy Impact:
Merrill has been day-to-day and not played since Sunday, but he has been unable to get over the ankle issues and will head to the IL. The Padres are opting to play it safe with their star center fielder, so he may be ready to return when first eligible. A corresponding move will be made on Sunday.
