Fitts is one of the two young pitchers, along with Brandon Clark, heading to the Cardinals in exchange for Sonny Gray. Fitts appeared in 11 games (10 starts) for the Red Sox in 2025, posting a 5.00 ERA across 45 innings. He will likely get a chance to compete for a spot in the Cardinals' rotation next spring.
