Jared Shuster signs minor league deal with Cardinals

Jared Shuster has signed a minor league contract with the St. Louis Cardinals. According to Jon Morosi, the contract includes an invitation to MLB Spring Training. (Jon Morosi on X)

The former first round pick by the Atlanta Braves in the 2020 MLB Draft, Shuster has appeared in 62 big league contests and has gone 6-8 with a 5.27 ERA with the Braves and the White Sox. His best season to date came in 2024 when he pitched in 39 games for the White Sox and posted a 4.30 ERA. Released by the Athletics ten days ago, Shuster is capable of starting or relieving and could make the Cardinals' opening day roster due to St. Louis still listening to trade offers for multiple veterans.
