Ryan Fitzgerald designated for assignment by Twins

Ryan Fitzgerald has been designated for assignment by the Minnesota Twins. The move was made to make room for recently-acquired Eric Wagaman on the 40-man roster. Double-A lefthander Kade Bragg was shipped to Miami for Wagaman. (Dan Hayes on X)

Fantasy Impact:

Fitzgerald made his major league debut last season for the Twins after nearly 3,000 career plate appearances in the minors. The infielder, who will turn 32 in June, played 24 games in Minnesota and batted .196 with four home runs in 46 at bats. Fitzgerald is a lifetime .258 hitter in the minors with 76 home runs while playing for the Red Sox, Royals, and Twins organizations.
