Fantasy Impact:
DeJong has played parts of nine seasons in the big leagues with six different clubs. He finished second in the NL Rookie of the Year voting in 2017 when he batted .285 with 25 home runs with St. Louis. Since then, the batting average has dropped but the power has remained. He is a career .229 hitter in 3,500 plate appearance but does have 146 career home runs, including 30 in 2019 and 24 in 2024. He played for the Nationals last season and hit .228 with six home runs. He will fill an organizational depth role and could see some at bats in New York at some point.
