Luis Gil and Yankees avoid arbitration

Luis Gil and the New York Yankees have avoided arbitration with the righthander scheduled to make $2.1625 million in 2026. (The Yankee Report on X)
Fantasy Impact:
Gil missed a good portion of the 2025 season and was limited to just 11 starts with the Yankees. He went 4-1 with a 3.32 ERA but did have a very high 13.5% walk rate in 57 innings. Gil was the 2024 AL Rookie of the Year after winning 15 games with a 3.50 ERA in 29 starts that season. Gil will open the 2026 campaign in the Yankees' rotation, likely slotting behind Max Fried and, possibly, Cam Schlittler.
