Rafael Lantigua returns to Blue Jays on minor league deal

Rafael Lantigua has signed a minor league contract with the Toronto Blue Jays. The deal includes an invite to spring training. (Toronto Blue Jays on X)

Lantigua has spent all eight of his professional seasons in the minor leagues, most of which came in the Blue Jays' organization. Last year, he played for Triple-A Lehigh Valley in the Phillies' organization and batted .230 with seven home runs and 17 stolen bases in 125 games. The middle infielder is a career .270 hitter with 46 home runs and 130 stolen bases in 806 career minor league games. Lantigua will likely start the year in Triple-A Toledo.
