Paolo Espino announces retirement

Paolo Espino has announced that he will retire following the World Baseball Classic. The righthander, who has spent 19 seasons in professional baseball, is pitching for his home country of Panama. (MLB Trade Rumors on X)

Espino, a 10th-round pick by Cleveland in 2006, finally made his major league debut in 2017 with the Milwaukee Brewers. The veteran pitched parts of six seasons in the majors with Milwaukee, Washington, Texas, and Toronto and finished with a 5.12 ERA in 265.2 career innings. Espino appeared in 376 career minor league games, spanning 1649.1 innings and won 95 games with a 4.03 ERA.
