Brandon Valenzuela optioned to Triple-A

by David Leisering | Blue Jays Correspondent | Wed, Mar 18th 9:12pm EDT

Brandon Valenzuela has been optioned to Triple-A Buffalo by the Toronto Blue Jays. (Toronto Blue Jays on X)

Fantasy Impact:

Valenzuela went 7-for-23 (.304) with a home run and five RBI for the Blue Jays this spring. The catcher, who can also play first base, combined to hit .224 with 15 home runs last season between Double-A and Triple-A, hitting .207 in 26 games with Buffalo. Valenzuela does have a strong arm as he threw out 34% of would-be base stealers last season. He'll get some more work at Triple-A to begin the season but will be waiting in the wings for a call-up should a need arise in Toronto.
