Triston McKenzie has been reassigned to minor league camp by the San Diego Padres. (San Diego Padres on X)
Fantasy Impact:
McKenzie's once-promising career has derailed, primarily due to injuries, over the last couple of seasons. The 28-year-old righthander posted a 9.95 ERA in 6.1 innings this spring, allowing nine hits and nine walks. In 2021 and 2022, McKenzie combined for a 3.73 ERA and a 1.04 WHIP in 311.1 innings with Cleveland. However, since then, he has combined to pitch just 97.1 innings with a 5.48 ERA and a 94:69 K:BB ratio. McKenzie will open the year in El Paso to work on his recent command issues with the hopes of beginning to resurrect his career.
