Alcala is a seven-year veteran in the major leagues, but he struggled to an 8.59 ERA in 7.1 innings this spring. The righthander has made 200 career appearances with the Twins, Red Sox, and Cardinals and has a 4.29 ERA in 218.1 innings. Alcala will open the season in Triple-A Buffalo.
