Wenceel Perez optioned to Triple-A

Perez entered camp as the early favorite to be Detroit's primary right fielder but hit .158 with no extra-base hits across 38 spring plate appearances. He posted a .738 OPS across 383 plate appearances in the regular season last year. (Evan Petzold)
Fantasy Impact:
The Tigers optioned Perez to Triple-A Toledo Tuesday, with Kevin McGonigle stepping in as the roster replacement and Matt Vierling expected to benefit most from the move. Perez is still expected to receive a look at the big-league level at some point in 2026.
