Martin Perez allowed no runs on two hits and four walks while striking out five over five innings in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Tigers.
Fantasy Impact:
Perez didn't exactly dominate the Tigers on Tuesday, but that's not his style. The veteran lefty has posted a remarkable 2.22 ERA and 0.99 WHIP through six appearances (four starts) so far this season, recording a 19-10 K/BB ratio across 28 1/3 innings. A 4.42 xFIP suggests Perez has had quite a bit of good luck, but he's also benefited from a 42.3% groundball rate and by holding the opposition to a 4.9% barrel rate.
