Max Scherzer allowed one earned run on three hits and two walks while striking out four over five innings in Thursday's loss to the Red Sox.

Scherzer has settled down on the mound of late, allowing two earned runs or less in each of his last four contests. The veteran right-hander remains one of many frustrating arms in an underwhelming Blue Jays rotation for manager John Schneider, posting a 6.59 ERA and 1.46 WHIP with a 1-5 record and .837 OPS allowed through 10 starts.
