Outfielder AJ Pollock went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI as the Dodgers beat the Padres 11-9 on Wednesday.
Pollock had a big game on Wednesday, smashing two homers. He swatted a two-run shot in the bottom of the first and then added a solo bomb in the eighth inning--one of four Dodgers' homers that frame--to cap off his night. The veteran outfielder has put together an excellent season, slashing .301/.360/.532 with 19 home runs, 65 RBI, and nine stolen bases over 372 at-bats.

Pollock swatted his 17th bomb of the year, a two-run shot, off Humberto Castellanos in the second inning. It was his only hit of the contest but it proved to be a difference-maker in the low-scoring affair. He's now slashing .297/.351/.516 with 17 home runs and 61 RBI over 364 at-bats.
The Dodgers are hoping that AJ Pollock will be able to begin a rehab assignment over the next four to five days. He hasn't played since September 4th due to a hamstring injury.
Pollock should have a chance at returning to the Dodgers' lineup by next week if all goes well. He's hitting .297/.352/.508 with 16 homers through 107 games on the season.

It's the third hamstring injury that Pollock has suffered this season. It's a tough blow for one of the Dodgers' top performers this year. Cody Bellinger, who was recently reduced to a platoon role, could wind up seeing more at-bats against lefties will Pollock sidelined.

The Dodgers were trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the eighth inning and staged a comeback rally, which was capped by Pollock's go-ahead RBI single. It would prove to be the game-winner as Joe Kelly shut the door on the Braves in the top of the ninth. Pollock has quietly been having a productive season. He's batting a steady .296 with a .860 OPS, 16 home runs, 57 RBI, and nine stolen bases over 351 at-bats.
