Getting to play right field Friday against the Toronto Blue Jays, Andrew Aplin went 1-for-2 with a base hit single. He also lined out and drew a walk. Aplin has ticked his average up ever so slightly to .185 in Grapefruit League.

Aplin had a very good offensive showing today. Unfortunately, this might be too little too late for the rookie outfielder. Fantasy owners need not worry about drafting Aplin.

Starting in right field during the split squad game against the Atlanta Braves Thursday, Andrew Aplin came up short at the plate again. He went 0-for-3 with a fly out and a pair of strikeouts. While he did also draw a walk, Aplin has dwindled his average down even further to .160 in spring training.

Unfortunately for Aplin, it is not a matter of if he will be cut, but rather when it will happen. The rookie outfielder just does not yet have the stuff to make the majors roster. Moreover, fantasy holders may not want to put him on their rosters, either.

Shifting between both center field and left field Wednesday against the Detroit Tigers, Andrew Aplin came up short at the plate again. He went 0-for-2 with a line out and a ground out into a double play. His average has now fallen down to .182 in Grapefruit League.

The steam that was carrying Aplin very well in the beginning of camp seems to be fading. It is unfortunate, given how much potential the rookie outfielder possesses. Fantasy owners will need to steer clear of Aplin for your rosters.

As unfortunate as it is, this performance from Aplin and subsequent shrink in average may just cost him a spot on the opening day roster for the team. Since more cuts are on the horizon, the young center fielder is very likely to be apart of that. Fantasy owners will want to avoid drafting Aplin right now.
