Zerpa has struggled in August and will now get a chance to reset in the minor leagues. Daniel Lynch has been recalled and will join the bullpen for the Royals.

Angel Zerpa is the only Royals pitcher who has yet to report due to visa/passport issues.

Zerpa missed most of last season due to a shoulder injury. He pitched in the Arizona Fall League where he was stretched out a bit. He could be used more in long relief this season for the Royals.

Angel Zerpa delivered an impressive performance on Wednesday, allowing just three hits and no earned runs over 5.1 innings pitched against the Guardians.

Zerpa showed excellent control, issuing zero walks while striking out four batters. With this outing, Zerpa has now recorded a 4.58 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP across 13 games this season.
