The Diamondbacks signed RHP Anthony Swarzak to a minor-league deal with an invitation to Spring Training on Thursday.
Swarzak has been added to the Diamondbacks as a non-roster player. He was released by the Phillies in July and failed to latch onto another team. Swarzak owned a 4.56 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and a 52:27 K:BB across 53 1/3 innings for the Mariners/Braves in 2019.
The Phillies have released RHP Anthony Swarzak.
Swarzak was waived and then re-signed in late June. He requested his release and will look to latch onto another team. The 34-year-old posted a 4.56 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 52:27 K:BB across 53 1/3 innings for Mariners/Braves in 2019.
The Phillies released reliever Anthony Swarzak and then re-signed him to a minor league deal.
It's a procedural move. Swarzark initially signed a minor-league contract with the Phillies back in February. The 34-year-old is expected to be added to the team's player pool for the 2020 season. He posted a 4.56 ERA in 59 appearances in 2019.
The Braves are planning to activate Anthony Swarzak (shoulder) off the IL prior to Friday's game.
Swarzak winds up missing two weeks with shoulder inflammation. He has been fantastic since a mid-season trade to the Braves, posting a 0.52 ERA in 17 1/3 innings. There's a chance he could see some save chances down the stretch.
The Braves placed Anthony Swarzak on the 10-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation.
Swarzak has been great for the Braves ever since coming over from the Mariners mid-season. He has been getting plenty of holds in his set up role, so this injury definitely hurts Atlanta.
