Brenton Doyle went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Colorado's 4-3 loss to Miami on Saturday.
Fantasy Impact
Doyle is off to an 0-for-7 start in the first two games of the year after a great spring that saw him hit .366 (15-for-41) with eight RBI and two stolen bases. He hit 23 home runs and stole 30 bases in 2024, but declined to 15 home runs and 18 stolen bases last season. Doyle will likely not hit for a high average, so the power and speed numbers have to be there for him to be a fantasy asset this season.
Doyle (wrist) has appeared in only two spring games due to a left wrist sprain. His most recent game action came over a week ago.
Fantasy Impact
He has made progress in his recovery. Doyle will take batting cage swings for the second consecutive day on Thursday and indicated he could rejoin the lineup for Friday's Cactus League matchup with Oakland.
Brenton Doyle (wrist) has a sprained left wrist and, after already sitting out three spring training games, will be out for a few more contests before being re-evaluated.
Fantasy Impact
The two-time Gold Glove winner had a disappointing year at the plate in 2025 as he batted .233 with 15 home runs and 18 stolen bases. In 2024, Doyle hit .260 with 23 long balls and 30 stolen bases. If the injury is serious enough to force him to miss time, offseason acquisition Jake McCarthy would like slide over to center. There has not been any indication that Doyle's status is in jeopardy for Opening Day. However, more information should be forthcoming when he gets re-evaluated.
Doyle (wrist) was scratched from Wednesday's Cactus League game against Chicago. Colorado initially characterized the absence as precautionary.
Fantasy Impact
He has since had imaging performed on his left wrist. The results are not yet available but may come back later Thursday. Jake McCarthy could move to center field if Doyle requires time off.
Brenton Doyle was scratched from Wednesday's lineup against the Chicago Cubs due to left wrist inflammation.
Fantasy Impact
Doyle’s removal from the lineup is considered precautionary and not related to being hit by a pitch in Monday’s game against the Chicago White Sox. With it still early in spring training, the Rockies will likely give him some time off before he returns to the lineup.
