Charlie Furbush heading to extended Spring Training

Charlie Furbush is nearly ready for the next step in his rehab process which will be extended Spring Training. He's been sidelined since the spring because of lingering day-after tightness in his recovery from biceps tendinitis and a slight tear in his rotator cuff.

Fantasy Impact

Furbush still has a few more hurdles before a minor league rehab assignment and then a return to the Mariners. He could be used in the later innings of games once he's able to return from injury, but he's not extremely fantasy relevant, especially considering the injury.

Charlie Furbush picks up his first win of the season in relief for Seattle

Charlie Furbush pitched the top of the 11th inning, allowing one hit, walking one batter and striking out three to pick up his first win of the season. The Mariners walked-off in the bottom of the 11th against the Tigers 7-6.

Fantasy Impact

Furbush has been solid out of the Mariners bullpen in 2015, owning a 1-1 record with a 2.08 ERA in 33 IP. Without being in the mix for saves in Seattle, Furbush has limited fantasy value and should be left alone in most leagues.

Charlie Furbush gets tagged with the loss in relief

Charlie Furbush had a night to forget as he could not record an out, allowing two hits, three runs, earning the loss for the Mariners pitching staff, as Seattle lost 6-3 to Houston.

Fantasy Impact

The left-handed pitcher got roughed up by Astros second baseman Jose Altuve, who screamed a double down the left-field line scoring all three runners in the eighth inning. This is the second night in a row that the Mariners bullpen blew a lead. Unless Furbush gets a new role in the suddenly questionable Seattle bullpen, he should be left alone in all fantasy formats.
