Eligibility
The Braves recalled pitcher Chris Rusin from their alternate camp on Saturday, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports. Jhoulys Chacin was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.
Fantasy Impact
Rusin is a journeyman left-hander who is likely to pitch in low-leverage situations for the Braves, limiting his fantasy appeal.
Chris Rusin was called in for the ninth on Friday as the Rockies downed the Braves 11-5. He gave up four hits, three earned runs, one walk and punched out one.
Fantasy Impact
Luckily for Rusin and the Rockies they had a massive lead. His pitches were getting picked up left right and centre and he walked one for not-so-good measure. The silver lining is that he got a K on the last batter. His ratios hold at a disgusting 7.02 ERA and 1.58 WHIP through 42 1/3 IP. Only the bold and desperate need use him at this point in the fantasy season.
Chris Rusin contributed 2/3 of an inning in the Rockies' 5-1 victory over the Diamondbacks. He allowed zero hits, while walking and striking out none.
Fantasy Impact
If you're in a holds league and you threw him in there hoping for one, then today is a good Friday. Rusin carries an undesirable 5.95 ERA and 1.47 WHIP through the first half of the 2018 season.
Chris Rusin was called in to replace Chad Bettis on Sunday but in a losing cause as LA topped Colorado 6-4. He allowed four hits, two runs (one earned) walked one and struck out two.
Fantasy Impact
The appearance started off well as Rusin sat down the first batter swinging with his sinker. He gave up a single and a walk following that. His defense didn't help him either by making a throwing error and bringing one of the two runs in. In the short amount of time Rusin has been on the mound this year, he holds a 6.38 ERA and 1.50 WHIP with 32 Ks.
Chris Rusin was called into replace the struggling German Marquez Sunday as the Rockies fell to the Marlins 8-5. He gave up no hits or runs while walking one and striking out two.
Fantasy Impact
He sat down his two Ks with a nice slider and sinker that caught both the batters swinging. Rusin also induced soft contact groundouts for three up three down in the sixth only to hand the game over to Jake McGee. His numbers sit at 0-2 with a 6.96 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 30 Ks through 32 1/3 innings pitched. You can do better on the wire.
