Texas Rangers manager Skip Schumaker said that Bradford looked in control of his pitches during the live batting practice session on Monday. Bradford continues to recover from left UCL surgery and is hopeful to return in mid-May.

Bradford had been building up through 50- and 55-pitch bullpen sessions before advancing to live batting practice against hitters.

He is expected to be ready for a rehab assignment when the regular season gets underway, with his return still projected for sometime in May.

Bradford, who will turn 28 in February, last pitched in 2024 when he went 6-3 with a 3.54 ERA in 14 appearances (13 starts). He had an excellent 4.2% walk rate to go with a 23% strikeout rate. While he doesn't have overpowering stuff, Bradford does have an excellent changeup and terrific command. As long as the recovery stays on track, Bradford should reclaim a spot in the starting rotation upon his return.
