Cody Ponce has expressed interest in returning to Major League Baseball for the 2026 season.
Fantasy Impact
Ponce most recently dominated in the Korea Baseball Organization last season. He posted a stifling 1.89 ERA with a 17-1 record over 29 starts. Ponce last pitched in the majors during the 2021 season.
Cody Ponce (0-2) took the loss Saturday against the Brewers, allowing five runs on six hits and three walks in 1.2 innings. He struck out three.
Fantasy Impact
Ponce was simply ineffective against Milwaukee on Saturday, allowing three runs in the first and two more in the second before being removed. In three appearances this season (two starts), Ponce owns a 11.17 ERA and 2.59 WHIP across 9.2 innings. Clearly, he isn't fantasy relevant, and isn't likely to become so anytime soon.
Cody Ponce (0-1) took the loss Tuesday against the Cubs, allowing four runs on nine hits and one walk in five innings. He struck out two.
Fantasy Impact
Ponce was decent through four frames, only surrendering a solo homer to Joc Pederson. However, he allowed three more runs in the fifth, including another homer by Pederson. Ponce's time in the rotation may be short lived, as Trevor Cahill (calf) is expected back from the injured list shortly.
Cody Ponce allowed one run on one hit and two walks while striking out three over four innings in Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader against the Reds. He didn't factor into the decision.
Fantasy Impact
Ponce yielded a solo homer to Joey Votto in the fourth inning. It was his only run allowed in Monday's Game 1 loss. He threw a total of 63 pitches, landing 39 for strikes. Ponce is currently not scheduled for another start.
