It was a scary moment as Paplham was attended to before he stood and walked to a golf cart under his own power and was carted off the field. Padres manager Mike Shildt said Paplham remained conscious and seemed alert throughout. “Our prayers are with him,” Shildt said. “Clearly a scary thing. … He was clearly in some pain, and obviously when something like that happens, a little bit rattled.”
