Sandlin opened the 2026 season with some elbow discomfort but has been dominant at Triple-A Charlotte following his return. In 12 innings, Sandlin has pitched to a 0.75 ERA with a 17:6 K:BB ratio in four starts. He also made two starts at High-A Winston-Salem allowing three hits in 4.1 scoreless innings with a 9:5 K:BB ratio. The White Sox have made it clear that they think he is ready for the show, but it's unclear if he will be deployed as a starter or out of the bullpen at this point.
Chicago optioned Sandlin to Triple-A Charlotte on Monday. A back issue surfaced earlier in spring training, followed by elbow soreness more recently. The injuries prevented him from making any Cactus League appearances.
