Derek Law pitched 1 2/3 innings Saturday, allowing just two walks and striking out two to earn the save in a 7-5 win over the Mariners.
Law got an opportunity for the save with Ken Giles on the paternity list and out for a couple of games. Normally Law works in a setup role and will move back once Giles returns and is not worth adding in fantasy.
Derek Law allowed one hit and one walk but posted two strikeouts during a four-out save in 5-4 victory against the Yankees on Saturday.
Normal Blue Jays closer Ken Giles has not pitched since Wednesday and looks like he may be heading to the IL. This could mean more save opportunities for Law who now has three saves on the season and would be worth grabbing in deeper leagues.
Derek Law earned his first save of the season on Friday, recording the final six outs to preserve a three-run lead against the Orioles
Law got the opportunity to close as Justin Shafer who saved the Blue Jays last win got sick and was not available. Regular closer Ken Giles should be back soon from his elbow issue and will get all chances moving forward.
Derek Law is almost certainly returning to triple-A Friday with the inclusion of Jeff Samardzija to the active roster. Law has a 5.40 ERA in just 3 and 1/3 innings this year.
Law is not where you'd look for fantasy help.
With Mark Melancon returning from the disabled list today Derek Law will once again resume a set up role.
Law filled in well as the closer for the Giants and rewarded fantasy owners who picked him up with a few saves. However, he doesn't need to be owned in leagues that don't use holds any longer.
