Minnesota Twins

Newly acquired Drew Stubbs hit a solo shot off of Boston's Matt Barnes in the 4th inning of this Spring outing.

Fantasy Impact: Drew Stubbs is competing for a role in the Twins' outfield. A key is to bring down that strikeout rate percentage of 29.8 Stubbs had last season.

Fantasy Impact: All Stubbs is at this point is insurance for any team. Considering that the Twins have much OF depth Stubbs will be battling for at-bats all season. For that reason Stubbs is not worth a look in fantasy this season. Stubbs finished 2016 with a .225 average, three home runs, and seven RBI.

Stubbs went 1-for-4 with a three-run HR and a walk in the Braves' 12-7 loss to the Cardinals on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: Stubbs' blast came off of Adam Wainwright to dead centerfield to tie the score at four in the fourth inning. Stubbs has always had an intriguing blend of power, speed, and defense, although he also showcased his major downfall on Sunday afternoon with three strikeouts. With Ender Inciarte going to the DL, the Braves called up rookie Mallex Smith, who figures to be the long-term solution in the outfield. Expect Stubbs to continue to see playing time platooning in center especially against lefties. He is a DFS dart throw at best right now.

Fantasy Impact: Stubbs enjoyed a solid spring, hitting .300 with two home runs, 10 RBI and three steals. He did, however, strike out 14 times in 40 at-bats, and the Rangers feel that Ryan Rua and Justin Ruggiano can give them the depth they need in the outfield.

According to Yahoo Sports, the Colorado Rockies have designated OF Drew Stubbs for assignment. (Source: Yahoo)

Fantasy Impact: Stubbs had a productive 2014 batting .289/.339/.482 with 16 home runs and 20 stolen bases. However, he has been on the decline in 2015 with a .216/.286/.431 slash line. At 30-years-old the outfielder may draw interest on waivers through his speed and defense.

Drew Stubbs is hitting .118 with 2 HRs and 5 RBI in 2015. He is running on fumes, and needs to figure something out soon.

Fantasy Impact: Stubbs is close to seeing his last bit of MLB experience if he doesn't start producing. With Cole Hamels on the mound, and Stubbs' back against the wall expect his numbers to turn around immediately.

Fantasy Impact: The 30-year old Stubbs was an extremely productive player for the Rockies just last season batting .289/.339/.482 with 15 HR and 20 SB. He had certainly made his mark in fantasy circles as well. The strikeouts have always been an issue with Stubbs, and he has particularly struggled in that department this year. With Corey Dickerson already on the shelf, who is going to play outfield for the already dismal Rockies?

Both of Drew Stubbs' hits are home runs. His eighth inning pinch home run was too little too late as the Rockies lost 13-7. He is an ugly 2-for-28 on the season.

Fantasy Impact: It's a tough job to hit after sitting on the bench all game. He needs to be better than .071 whether he's starting or not. Avoid at all costs until he starts putting up less zeroes.

Drew Stubbs has been hitting well so far this spring and it continued on Wednesday against the San Diego Padres. Stubbs went 2-3 with a home run, 2 RBI, and 2 R. His home run came off of standout Padres starter Tyson Ross.

Fantasy Impact: Stubbs is now hitting .333 in the spring with a pair of homers and four RBI. Stubbs does not offer very much upside in the fantasy world but he can offer some mid-range power and a healthy amount of stolen bases. He could be a sneaky sleeper pick in the last couple of rounds this season now that he gets another year of playing at Coors Field.

Drew Stubbs homers on Thursday

Thu, Mar 12th 7:49pm EDT
By Kyle Smith

Drew Stubbs played center field and went deep in Thursday's loss to the Milwaukee Brewers. For the game he went 1-2.

Fantasy Impact: Stubbs was a pleasant surprise last season when the Rockies acquired him. He is expected to stay as the starting center fielder and is batting .364 so far in spring. From a fantasy perspective he is a waiver-wire guy but he can provide some value whenever he gets on one of his hot streaks.

Colorado & Drew Stubbs agreed to a one year, $5.825 million contract. (Source: FOX Sports)

Fantasy Impact: Stubbs is currently fourth on the Colorado depth chart, but an injury to Carlos Gonzalez or any of the other outfielders will thrust Stubbs into mixed league relevance. He went .289/.339/.482 last season while being one of only eight outfielders to go 15 & 15 on home runs & stolen bases.
