Eric Wagaman, who was designated for assignment last week by the Marlins, has been shipped to the Minnesota Twins. Double-A lefthander Kade Bragg heads back to the Marlins in the deal. To make room for Wagaman on the 40-man roster, the Twins designated infielder Ryan Fitzgerald for assignment.
Fantasy Impact
Wagaman, who played both corner infield positions as well as both corner outfield spots last season, appeared in 140 games for the Marlins in 2025. He batted .250 with nine home runs and 53 RBI in 514 plate appearances. Wagaman also played 17 games for the Angels in 2024. Given his ability to play multiple positions, Wagaman should, at the very least, carve out a depth role with the Twins.
The Marlins designated INF Eric Wagaman for assignment.

Wagaman slashed .250/.296/.378 last season with Miami. He could draw some interest on waivers.

Wagaman sits at 116 hits, 51 RBI, and nine home runs across 468 at-bats this season. Batting .248 with a .295 OBP, he’s provided modest contact and run production.

Eric Wagaman went 1-for-2 with a home run, one RBI, one run scored, two walks, and one strikeout in the Marlins’ loss to the Astros.
Fantasy Impact
Wagaman hit his first home run since June 17 on Tuesday. Despite his multi-position eligibility, he's not someone to consider for fantasy as he is not seeing consistent playing time. After the game yesterday, Wagaman holds a .233 batting average with six home runs and 35 RBI over 101 games this season.
