Rameriz exited Saturday’s game early due to a strain in his left hamstring. He has 11 plate appearances on the season. Eddy Alvarez was recalled in a corresponding move.
Harold Ramirez exited Saturday's game against the Rays with a left hamstring strain.
Brutal. Ramirez was just activated off the COVID-19 IL. It's unclear how severe the injury is at this time.
Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports Harold Ramirez is one of the Marlins' players to test positive for COVID-19.
Miami is the first team to deal with an outbreak of the virus. Jose Urena, Garrett Cooper, and Jorge Alfaro have also tested positive. They'll have to quarantine in Philadelphia as the team was on the road when the positive tests occurred.
Joe Frisaro of MLB.com says Harold Ramirez and Garrett Cooper are the top options for the Marlins' right field job with Matt Joyce still away.
It's unclear if Joyce will be joining the team, which could open up at bats for Ramirez. The 25-year-old hit .276 with 11 homers and 50 RBI in 119 games last year. However, he's a liability in the field. Perhaps Ramirez will get some at bats as the team's DH this summer.
Marlins outfielder Harold Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run in Thursday's win over the Pirates. The homer was his 10th of the season.
He got off to a hot start, but Ramirez is now batting .270 with 46 runs scored, 10 home runs, 43 RBI, and two stolen bases through 96 games this season.
