Jack Kochanowicz allowed just a run on two hits in seven innings on Friday to lift the Angels to a 10-2 victory over the Reds in Cincinnati.
Fantasy Impact
Kochanowicz improved to 2-0 on the season as he tied for the second-longest outing of his career. His only real hiccup came in the bottom of the fifth when he walked the bases loaded before allowing an RBI groundout to TJ Friedl. He finished the night with four walks and only two strikeouts, throwing 53 of his 95 pitches for strikes. Kochanowicz, who has a 3.24 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP through three starts, is lined up to pitch against the Yankees next week in New York.
Jack Kochanowicz tossed 5.2 scoreless innings on Saturday and allowed four hits while walking two and striking out seven as the Angels held off the Mariners, 1-0.
Fantasy Impact
It was a much better start for Kochanowicz (1-0) than his season debut when he allowed five earned runs and five walks in four innings against Houston. Kochanowicz threw 86 pitches, 61 for strikes, in his 5.2 innings and his seven strikeouts were one shy of his career-best eight punchouts against the Yankees on June 18, 2025. He is tentatively slated to make his next start against Cincinnati next week.
Jack Kochanowicz allowed six runs (five earned) on four hits with five walks and three strikeouts in four innings of work on Sunday as the Angels dropped a 9-7 decision in Houston.
Fantasy Impact
Kochanowicz had a great spring, posting a 1.62 ERA in 16.2 innings with a 15:4 K:BB ratio, to earn a spot in the Angels' rotation to start the year. However, things did not go well for the young righthander on Sunday. Kochanowicz pitched to a 6.81 ERA in 23 starts last season for the Angels, so he's going to need to improve on Sunday's outing to remain in the rotation. He's tentatively scheduled to start against the Mariners at home next weekend.
Angels right-hander Jack Kochanowicz has made the Opening Day roster, according to manager Kurt Suzuki.
Fantasy Impact
Suzuki added that Kochanowicz's role is uncertain ahead of Opening Day. The 25-year-old was touched up for a 6.81 ERA in 23 starts with the Halos last season, but impressed with a 1.98 ERA in 13 2/3 inninfs of work this spring.
Jack Kochanowicz has been optioned back to the minors.
Fantasy Impact
Kochanowicz was battered for 11 runs (10 ER) over 3 1/3 innings by the Rangers on Wednesday. That brought his season ERA to 6.81 over 23 starts for the Angels. The 24-year-old will be replaced in the rotation by the returning Tyler Anderson (paternity), who will start Friday for the Angels.
