RHP J.B. Bukauskas allowed four unearned runs on one hit and three walks over one inning as the D-Backs were pounded by the Giants 11-4 on Friday.
Bukauskas was making his first appearance since May 24 following a lengthy IL stint. It did not go so well for the 24-year-old. He walked Buster Posey initially but then induced a double play to get two quick outs. He followed that up with two more walks sandwiched between Wilmer Flores reaching on an error. Thairo Estrada then swatted a grand slam but due to the error, none of the runs were earned. There should be better days ahead for J.B. Bukauskas.
The Diamondbacks activated RHP J.B. Bukauskas (elbow) from the 10-day injured list.
The 24-year-old has been out since the middle of May. Acquired in the Zack Greinke trade, Bukauskas has "closer stuff" but is still working on being a consistent reliever for now.
The Diamondbacks placed RHP J.B. Bukauskas on the 10-day IL with a right elbow flexor strain.
It's concerning since Bukauskas has dealt with elbow issues before. He was thought to be a closing candidate for Arizona when he first got called up to the majors this year, but he just hasn't been all that effective since arriving.
