The St. Louis Cardinals are calling up OF Jeremy Hazelbaker from AAA.

Before Hazelbaker was optioned to Triple-A he hit .250 with seven HR, 19 RBI and 19 runs. Jeremy should be added to your "watch list" as he is a classic waiver wire add once he gets hot.

Hazelbaker will bat in the leadoff spot Thursday against the Nationals' Joe Ross.

Fantasy Impact

After a hot start to the season, Hazelbaker is hitting just .163 in May with only two extra-base hits. Hazelbaker could be a useful cheap DFS option tonight batting leadoff with only five games on the night slate.

Rookie Cardinals OF Jeremy Hazelbaker is beginning to cool off after a torrid stretch to start the season. After Tuesday's night's 0-for-4, Hazelbarker is now 0-for-14 since Friday.

Hazelbaker's three HR and seven RBI to start the season were great, but all good things must come to an end. Eventually he'll move back to the fourth outfielder role - but still should see some frequent playing time with the Cardinals platoon plays.

Jeremy Hazelbaker went 2-for-5 on Thursday against the Brewers, including his third home run. He is batting .481 on the season.

Hazelbaker can do no wrong right now, and is excelling in every fantasy category. Obviously, it doesn't take a genius to know that regression is coming, and it wouldn't be surprising to see Hazelbaker come crashing down to earth and get little to no playing time once Tommy Pham comes off the DL. Still, like all good streaks, fantasy owners should ride Hazelbaker's latest run until he slows down.
