J.J. Hardy hits first spring home run
Orioles SS J.J. Hardy went 1-for-3 with a solo home run on Friday.
Since his spring debut after sitting out to start due to back spasms, Hardy is 4-for-18 with today's HR and RBI being his first in each category. When healthy, Hardy should see a lot of action at SS. But with his injury and Manny Machado's ability to slide over to SS, Hardy will have to prove himself throughout the season to remain in the lineup. His fantasy value entering your 2017 draft is very low.
J.J. Hardy makes spring debut
Orioles shortstop J.J. Hardy made his first two starts of the spring this week, going 1-for-4 with two walks.
Hardy is already a low-end fantasy player going into 2017. If his back injury lingers, the O's will have other lineup options in an infield where Manny Machado is capable of playing both 3B and SS.
J.J. Hardy's back is feeling much better
O's SS J.J. Hardy says his back is feeling much better. He will be taking workouts slow to start, but believes he can start playing in exhibition games on March 10.
Hardy is coming off a season with an average of .269 over 115 games. When healthy, he will slot into the back end of the lineup. The back spasms appear to be minor. Barring any setbacks, expect Hardy to be in the lineup on Opening Day.
J.J. Hardy picks up 28th double
J.J. Hardy went 1-for-4 on Tuesday with a double and a run scored. The Blue Jays went on to beat Baltimore 5-1.
Hardy has put together a solid season for the O's, slashing .274/.314/.416 with nine homers and 47 RBI. He is set to take on lefty Francisco Liriano today.
J.J. Hardy drives in three
J.J. Hardy went 1-for-3 with a double and three RBI on Thursday, but the Orioles lost to the Rays by a score of 7-6.
Hardy had a two-run double in the first inning and later drove in a run with a fielder's choice. The veteran shortstop is up to 26 doubles and 44 RBI on the year.
