John Jaso struggles on Tuesday

John Jaso (0-of-4) struck out twice and left three runners on base against the Milaukee Brewers. He is slashing .267 with 72 hits in 270 at-bats.

Fantasy Impact

Jaso is still sitting atop the Pirates lineup, and it's why he is still on the fantasy radar. Still, with the top spot, Jaso does not hit for power or steal bases. On top of that, his total run production is still more to be desired. Keep Jaso on the wire and fade him in daily contests.

John Jaso goes deep for home run number one in 2016

It only took one pitch for Jaso in his first at-bat to park one over the fence. It was his lone hit of the game as Jaso finished 1-of-3 with a solo homer and a walk.

Fantasy Impact

The veteran catcher turned first baseman is off to a solid start with his new team. Jaso is a nice under-the-radar play in DFS contests for his ability to get on base and score runs. In seasonal leagues, his upside is still limited because he doesn't hit for much power or steal bases.

John Jaso leads off, singles twice

John Jaso finished 2-for-4 against the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday with two singles, an RBI, and a walk.

Fantasy Impact

Jaso is playing almost every day and is batting .354 to start the season. His batting average is impressive, like his dreads, but outside of average and runs, Jaso doesn't offer much from a fantasy perspective.

John Jaso gets day off Tuesday

John Jaso is out of the Pirates' lineup on Tuesday.

Fantasy Impact

Michael Morse will start in his place at 1B. Matt Joyce will remain in the lineup, acting as the team's DH. Jaso has hit .321 with four extra-base hits over 28 at-bats so far this season.

John Jaso homers in Rays clobbering

John Jaso went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer as the Rays were clobbered 10-4 by the Red Sox on Saturday afternoon.

Fantasy Impact

On a day where David Ortiz blasted his 499th and 500th home runs, John Jaso's third round-tripper of the season was admittedly under the radar. He led off again against a rightie and continues to be serviceable in that role. On the season he's amassed a .278/.369/.438 line along with those three homers and 17 RBI in 144 at-bats. He's barely serviceable for fantasy owners unless you're in need of some average.
