The Miami Marlins and infielder Jon Berti have avoided arbitration and agreed to a one-year contract.

While Berti doesn't offer much in terms of power with a career .109 isolated power, Berti's 41 stolen bases from last season lead all of baseball and came in just 102 games played. That's a far cry from the eight he stole in 85 games in the 2021 campaign. Unfortunately, Berti's playing time is set to take a hit with Luis Arraez in the picture at his second-base position. He projects for another 20-plus steal season, however, a total lack of home-run power puts a hard cap on his fantasy upside.

Stolen base are nothing new from Berti this season, as he leads the bigs with 36 now. The across-the-board production Monday night was a rarity from the versatile speedster. Fantasy owners would love to see more of it here over the last few weeks of the season, but that seems quite unlikely. Still, Berti delivers strong value with his ability on the base paths alone.

In a Marlins offense that has been ravaged by injuries and some disappointing production this year, Berti remains one of the few bright spots and fantasy assets.
