Fantasy Impact
Fernandez did not walk anyone and faced just 27 batters in his 8 innings. He had no cushion either, as most of the game was 0-0 and ended as a 1-0 win for the Marlins, good for Jose's 16th win of the season.
Miami Marlins starter Jose Fernandez did not have close to his best stuff on Wednesday, but he put together a seven inning, four run outing, allowing six hits and two walks while striking out three.
Fantasy Impact
It was more Jered Weaver than Jose Fernandez tonight, but it was enough for Jose's 15th win of the season. He had no strikeouts until the sixth inning, the deepest he's ever gone into a game without a punchout. Still, like a true ace, he worked around subpar stuff and gave his team a win.
Miami Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez dominated the Dodgers on Friday, tossing seven shutout innings while allowing just three hits and striking out fourteen.
Fantasy Impact
The fourteen strikeouts matched a career high for Jose, who lowered his ERA to 2.90. With rumors swirling that the Marlins may shut him down early, Jose will likely try to make the most of his remaining starts.
Miami Marlins ace Jose Fernandez may have an early exit to the 2016 season. With the team slipping further and further from the Wild Card spot, reports say the Marlins are considering shutting down Fernandez before the season ends.
Fantasy Impact
Jose's target innings limit was 180. He is currently just over 160 and, with the Marlins mostly playing meaningless games at this point, there may be no reason to risk injury.
