Jose Osuna was optioned to the Pirates' alternate training site following Wednesday's loss to the Twins.
Osuna was optioned to the alternate site after the Pirates had to trim the roster down from 30 to 28 by Thursday. He slashed .158/.238/.316 with one home run, four RBI and one run scored across 21 plate appearances this season.

Osuna belted a two-run shot off Dakota Hudson in the fourth inning to give the Pirates the lead. He has driven in four runs in his last two contests. Gregory Polanco is set to return this week, but Osuna should be able to find playing at 1B/DH. The 27-year-old will look to continue to swing a hot bat when the Pirates host the Brewers on Monday.
