Josh Harrison (hamstring) expected to go on IL

Harrison will likely go on the 10-day injured list later Tuesday, Ron Gardenhire told reporters prior to the Tigers' game against the Baltimore Orioles.

Fantasy Impact

Harrison left Monday's game against the Orioles after straining his left hamstring while trying to steal third base. It's an aggravation of an injury Harrison played through last season. The 31-year-old is batting just .176 with one home run and eight RBIs in 146 plate appearances.

Josh Harrison picks up a steal

Detroit Tigers infielder Josh Harrison picked up a steal in a 4-3 loss to the Mets on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact

Harrison didn't start but made an appearance as a pinch-runner. He is struggling this season, hitting .173 with one homer, 10 runs, eight RBI, and three steals.

Josh Harrison (shoulder) activated from IL, batting seventh Monday

The Tigers activated Josh Harrison (shoulder) off the injured list Monday.

Fantasy Impact

Harrison is batting seventh and playing second base versus the Astros. He is off to a slow start this year, hitting .156 with one homer and two steals.

Josh Harrison lands on IL

The Tigers placed Josh Harrison on the injured list on Tuesday with a left shoulder contusion.

Fantasy Impact

Harrison was hitting a meager .156 prior to suffering the injury, and had recently been dropped from first to seventh in the batting order. Harrison has been capable of providing double digit home runs and steals with a solid batting average in the past, but he is well off the mixed league radar at this point even though he isn't expected to miss much time.

Josh Harrison drops to seventh in the order

Josh Harrison is batting seventh and playing second base for Tuesday's first game of a day/night doubleheader. Harrison is normally the leadoff man, so it is hard to gauge whether the Tigers are experimenting with other options or if Harrison has lost the role, for now.

Fantasy Impact

If Harrison is not in the leadoff spot, his fantasy value will certainly slip further than it already has. With a slash line of .122/.195/.189, its understandable that the Tigers would make a move. Hopefully this is temporary, but if not, Harrison can earn his way back to the top of the lineup as the season progresses. For Tuesday's contest, Jeimer Candelario will leadoff for the Tigers.
