Josh Rogers allowed four runs on six hits and a walk over 4 1/3 innings on Thursday against the Diamondbacks. He struck out two and took the loss, falling to 1-2.
Fantasy Impact
If you needed to know the quality of Rogers' stuff on Thursday, look no further than the fact that he had just three whiffs on 71 pitches. He has struck out just seven in 14 innings thus far, and shows no signs of being a valuable fantasy commodity. Ignore him for his next start against the Marlins.
Washington Nationals SP Josh Rogers pitched 4.1 innings, striking out two, walking two, and giving up six hits for three earned runs in a 6-4 loss to the Pirates.
Fantasy Impact
Rogers is now 1-1 on the season after taking the loss Saturday due to giving up three runs early. The Nationals starting pitcher has an ERA of 3.72 and a WHIP of 1.24 but his strikeout numbers are rather low with five strikeouts through just about 10 innings of total pitching so far this year. If managers need to start Rogers they are likely hoping for a win due to the low strikeout numbers but he proved he can get them after catching his first win earlier this year against an elite Braves team.
Josh Rogers allowed one run on two hits and two walks over 5 1/3 innings on Monday against the Braves. He struck out three and earned his first win of the season.
Fantasy Impact
Rogers was staked to a lead early and did what every pitcher should do in that situation - he pounded the strike zone and didn't beat himself. Rogers has a career 5.55 ERA so he's not really worth your time, but he should line up to face Pittsburgh in his next start and he'll likely stick around in the rotation until Anibal Sanchez returns.
Josh Rogers surrendered one run on two hits and no walks while striking out two in two innings during Friday;s 8-3 loss to the Marlins.
Fantasy Impact
Rogers drew the start in the spring opener Friday. The 27-year-old lefty spent the final month of last season in the Nationals rotation and is looking to win a spot from the outset this year. Over six starts in 2021, Rogers recorded a 3.28 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, and 22-to-14 K/BB ratio across 35.2 innings.
Josh Rogers took the loss and went six innings against the Red Sox. Rogers gave up seven hits, four earned runs, and three walks with three strikeouts.
Fantasy Impact
Rogers finished with a 13% whiff rate and 24% CSW% overall on 86 pitches thrown. Unfortunately, he's a risky pitcher to stream in 2021, which means he likely won't be drafted in 2022.
