J.P. Feyereisen (shoulder) was placed on the 60-day IL on Thursday.
Fantasy Impact
Feyereisen was traded to the Dodgers in December after undergoing shoulder surgery. He will likely be out for the first few months of the season, but he had a 0.00 ERA in 24.1 innings in 2022 and could be a valuable pickup later in the fantasy season if all goes well.
J.P. Feyereisen is being traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers after being DFA’d by the Tampa Bay Rays.
Fantasy Impact
Feyereisen is expected to miss most of 2023 but will be under team control through 2026. The Dodgers have an excellent track record of developing relievers like this. He will be a name to watch in 2024.
J.P. Feyereisen threw a bullpen session Monday. He is scheduled to throw another bullpen session with the Rays and then throw live batting practice with Triple-A Durham.
Fantasy Impact
Feyereisen was placed on the 15-day IL on June 3rd and then moved to the 60-day IL on July 4th. The 29-year-old reliever continues to work his way back from a right shoulder impingement. Prior to the injury he was having a phenomenal season. He posted a 0.00 ERA, .086 OBA, and a 9.25 K/9 ratio in 24 1/3 innings pitched. It is likely that the Rays do not have Feyereisen back in their bullpen until he gets some rehab appearances under his belt.
J.P. Feyereisen has been transferred from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day injured list with a right shoulder impingement on Monday.
Fantasy Impact
Feyereisen has been on the shelf since June 3 with the shoulder impingement injury and has been moved to the 60-day list to make room for Cristofer Ogando on the active roster. It's a tough break for the young hurler as he has been excellent this season going 4-0 with 25 strikeouts over 24 1/3 scoreless innings.
Rays manager Kevin Cash said an MRI on J.P. Feyereisen showed a bone bruise.
Fantasy Impact
Cash added that it is better than anything with the moving parts in the shoulder. He was placed on the injured list on Friday with a right shoulder impingement.
