Tyler Soderstrom and the Athletics are in agreement on a seven-year contract extension worth $86 million as reported by Jeff Passan. It is the largest guarantee in franchise history and includes an eighth-year club option and has incentives that could max the deal out at $131 million. (Source: Jeff Passan on X)

Fantasy Impact: Soderstrom, who just turned 24, was the A's first-round pick in the 2020 MLB Draft. He enjoyed a breakout season last year, batting .276 with 25 home runs and 93 RBI while posting an .820 OPS. Soderstrom also ranked eighth in the AL with 34 doubles while also placing second in the league with 11 outfield assists. Soderstrom will slot into the middle of the Athletics' batting order in 2026 and certainly has 30-home run, 100-RBI potential in a strong lineup.

Michael Chavis has agreed to a minor league deal, that includes an invitation to spring training, with the Cincinnati Reds. (Source: Kiley McDaniel on X)

Fantasy Impact: Chavis has not appeared in a major league game since 2023 when he batted .242 in 96 plate appearances with the Nationals. The utilityman can play anywhere but primarily occupies either corner infield position. His best year came in 2019, his rookie season, with the Red Sox when he batted .254 with 18 home runs and 58 RBI. Chavis will fill organizational depth for the Reds and can step up if injury or underperformance occurs.
