The 25-year-old yielded five hits, albeit two of which went for homers, and a pair of walks while striking out five. Sitting in for the injured Justin Verlander, Montero has held his own with a 4.00 ERA and 23 strikeouts against just five walks in 27 innings. He lines up to take on the Rangers at home on Saturday.
