The Pirates transferred Kevin Kramer (hip) to the 60-day injured list.
Pittsburgh announced in May that Kramer underwent hip surgery and will be out 4-6 months. The procedural move clears a spot on the 40-man roster.

If the MLB season resumes, Kramer's recovery timeline from surgery would put him out for the entire 2020 campaign. He was expected to start the season in Triple-A. Kramer slashed .167/.260/.190 with five RBI and five runs scored across 50 plate appearances for the Pirates i 2019. The former second-round pick is a stash in dynasty leagues only.

Kramer is the sixth ranked prospect in the Pirates' system. The UCLA-product finished Spring Training with four runs scored, six RBI, two stolen bases, one home run and one double. He also slashed .207/.258/.345 as well.
Kevin Kramer entered Wednesday's game against the Cubs in the ninth inning as a pinch-runner for Francisco Cervelli. He came around to score on a double by Starling Marte.
Kramer has gotten limited playing time since being called up earlier this month and does not need to be owned.
