Kevin Smith was removed from Monday's game against the Astros with an undisclosed injury.
Fantasy Impact
Smith doubled for the first hit off Framber Valdez but slowed up coming into second and was removed from the game after being visited by a trainer. The nature of the injury is unclear but the A's should update his status after the game.
Oakland Athletics 3B Kevin Smith went 2-for-3 at the plate on Monday, hitting two singles, and a sacrifice fly for a RBI in the A's 7-6 loss to the Mariners.
Fantasy Impact
So far the trade for Smith and sending out Matt Chapman seems to be one of the better trades they have made as Smith has played adequately meanwhile Chapman is having one of the worst seasons of his career at this point in the season. The A's third basemen is batting .235 and has 13 RBI through 34 games played as he has become a regular in the teams starting lineup.
Oakland Athletics 3B Kevin Smith went 2-for-4 at the plate on Tuesday, hitting a 2-run home run, and striking out once in the A's 5-2 win over the Twins.
Fantasy Impact
Smith hit just his second home run of the season in the A's win as he helped the team shake out of their offensive funk as of lately. The A's third basemen should not be rostered as he is batting just .195 with an OPS of .579 with 11 RBI so far this season.
Oakland Athletics 3B Kevin Smith went 1-for-5 at the plate on Wednesday, hitting a 2-run RBI double, and striking out twice in the A's 9-0 win over the Tigers.
Fantasy Impact
As for most of the A's team Smith should remain on the waivers for the time being as he is batting just .217. Through 23 games this year the third basemen has just one home run and nine RBI's with a low OPS of .627 which are the main reasons as to why he should not be rostered.
Oakland Athletics 3B Kevin Smith went 1-for-4 at the plate on Tuesday, hitting a grand-slam, and striking out once in the A's 10-7 loss to the Rays.
Fantasy Impact
Smith has been average at best at the plate so far this season but was terrific on Tuesday as he hit his first career grand-slam to give the A's the early lead in the first inning. Unfortunately for the third basemen his big day was tarnished by the A's relievers blowing the four-run lead as they lost in extra innings.
