The Seattle Mariners optioned relief pitcher Keynan Middleton to Triple-A Tacoma on Friday.
This comes after Justin Dunn and Kendall Graveman were both activated from the injured list. Middleton showed flashes of solid play in the late innings out of the Mariners bullpen this season. He might not be in Triple-A for too long.
Keynan Middleton earned the save Sunday against Texas, recording a very quick 1-2-3 inning.
Middleton tossed just five pitches in the save Sunday afternoon.

After recording the first two outs of the inning in quick fashion, Middleton allowed a double and a walk when he was removed from the game.

Kendall Graveman was recently placed on the injured list, so the closer role is up for grabs in the Mariners bullpen right now. In just his second appearance since returning from the injured list, Middleton got the opportunity Monday night and took advantage of it, registering his third save of the season.
Keynan Middleton suffered a biceps strain in his brief appearance Tuesday against Baltimore.
Middleton entered the game in the ninth inning, walking the only batter he faced on four pitches and none of them were close. That is when he was taken out of the game. We will see if he is headed for a stint on the injured list. Middleton has posted a 3.86 ERA so far this season out of the Mariners bullpen.
