Kristopher Negron went 1-for-3 with a stolen base in Friday's 3-2 win over the Tigers.
Fantasy Impact
Negron got aboard with a single in the seventh inning and then stole second base for his first swiped bag of the season. He is slashing .238/.273/.238 in his first eight games with the Mariners this season since a call-up from Triple-A Tacoma on July 16.
Kristopher Negron scored in the ninth on Sunday when he was pinch running for Brayan Pena. He scored on a double from Zack Cozart which tied the game at 3.
Fantasy Impact
Negron gets significant playing time as the primary backup for Cozart and Phillips. He is continuing to struggle at the plate as he has only 5 hits in 36 attempts this season.
Negron went 0-for-2 on Sunday after filling in for Zack Cozart. Not a terrible day for Negron, just average.
Fantasy Impact
Negron continues to hit poorly as he is 1-for-23 at the plate this year. I'm sure the Reds hope that Cozart isn't out for long.
Negron was 0-for-2 on Sunday against the Cubs. Not a big surprise though, as he is 1-for-17 on the season.
Fantasy Impact
Over the last few days, Negron has gotten some work filling in for infielders. He is the consensus backup at second, short, and third. This does not mean he worthy. It just shows the lack of depth in the Reds infield. Never should there be a reason to start him in any fantasy format.
