Luis Lara chips in hit, steal in win over Marlins

Luis Lara went 1-for-4 in a win over the Marlins with one walk and one stolen base.

Fantasy Impact

Lara continues a steady stretch since being called up, getting on base in each of his seven contests. The 21-year-old offers manager Pat Murphy another impactful option as part of a promising, young Brewers core, batting .286 with two RBI, two runs scored, and one stolen base through seven games.

Luis Lara headed to the big leagues

Luis Lara was called up from Triple-A Nashville ahead of Tuesday's game against the Cardinals.

Fantasy Impact

Lara, the Brewers' No. 4 prospect (No. 67 overall) per MLB.com, is set to make his MLB debut. The 21-year-old outfielder has has been tremendous during his first season in Triple-A, putting up a .321/.432/.470 slash line with nine homers and 24 steals through 78 games. A switch-hitter with the ability to play solid defense at all three outfield spots, Lara should find plenty of at-bats even in a seemingly crowded situation in Milwaukee.

Luis Lara reportedly signs 8-year extension with Brewers

The Brewers and prospect Luis Lara have reportedly agreed to an 8-year extension worth roughly $30 million.

Fantasy Impact

Milwaukee locks up Lara early. He is the No. 5 prospect for the Brewers per MLB Pipeline with the contract including two team options and incentives/escalators.

Luis Lara reassigned to minor league camp

Outfielder Luis Lara has been reassigned to minor league camp by the Milwaukee Brewers.

Fantasy Impact

Lara had a solid spring, going 9-for-33 with three doubles and two RBI. However, he was caught stealing in both of his attempts. The 21-year-old has very little power but excellent speed as evidenced by his 126 stolen bases in 391 career minor league games. Lara spent all of last season in Double-A Biloxi where he hit .257 with two home runs and 44 stolen bases in 136 games. He'll provide organizational depth in center field for the Brewers in 2026.
