Maile will miss 10-to-12 weeks with a fractured right index finger. He most likely won't see the field in a shortened campaign. The 29-year-old was set to be the Pirates primary backup catcher. Look for John Ryan Murphy to handle the backup duties behind starter Jacob Stallings.
Luke Maile went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Monday's loss to the Red Sox by a 12-2 score.
Maile is backing up Danny Jansen and does not see regular at-bats. The veteran catcher is hitting .148 with two home runs and four RBI. Maile is not fantasy relevant.

It was a pretty impressive night for the backup catcher. Maile is off to a good start on the season hitting .339 with two home runs, 14 RBI and 12 runs scored. Unfortunately, Maile is stuck behind Russell Martin at catcher and is not going to see enough at-bats to be worth owning in fantasy leagues.
