Matt Moore picks up his first win of the season

Matt Moore (1-3) got his first win of the season Tuesday, allowing one run (unearned) on five hits and two walks over seven innings while striking out six.

Fantasy Impact

Moore did not pitch well in his first three starts of the season for the Rangers. A matchup with the light hitting Rays was just what he needed. It is still hard to trust the veteran lefty who now has a 5.59 ERA and 1.71 WHIP.

Matt Moore loses again on Wednesday night

Matt Moore (0-3) took the loss against the Angels on Wednesday, allowing three runs on seven hits and three walks over five innings while striking out two.

Fantasy Impact

This was actually Moore's best start of the year as he lowered his ERA from 11.05 to 8.71. The veteran pitcher has been a disappointment for fantasy owners. But if there is any chance for Moore to turn things around it could be against the slumping Rays in his next start on Tuesday.

Matt Moore struggles in loss to Toronto

Matt Moore (0-2) was rocked for six runs (five earned) on five hits in 3 1/3 innings, walking four to go along with just one strikeout in Texas' 8-5 loss to Toronto on Friday.

Fantasy Impact

Moore is off to a poor start in his first season with the Rangers. In two starts the veteran has given up nine earned runs in just 7 1/3 innings. Fantasy owners that picked up Moore expecting a turnaround may want to find alternatives on the waiver wire.

Matt Moore lasts just four innings against the Astros

Matt Moore completed four innings and took the loss Saturday against the Astros, allowing four earned runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out six.

Fantasy Impact

The one positive to take out of Moore's start is the six strikeouts. But the veteran lefty struggled against a tough Astros lineup. Moore is coming off a season in which he had a 4.94 ERA for San Francisco and will be hard-pressed to improve that number pitching this year in Texas.

Matt Moore gets rocked in spring training start

Matt Moore didn’t have it on Wednesday, yielding eight hits and five runs over two innings in the Rangers’ Cactus League loss to the Cubs. Moore walked two and struck out one.

Fantasy Impact

Moore has a firm hold on a starting spot in the Rangers rotation. But the 28-year-old lefty is no longer fantasy relevant coming off a year with the Giants where he lost 15 games with a 5.52 ERA and 1.53 WHIP.
